We welcome children of all ages! Dr. Zanthos and Team are truly committed to providing you and your child with a pleasant dental experience.
Prevention is the key to keeping your child’s smile healthy.
Regular visits to the dentist have been proven to help prevent dental decay and promote healthy habits like brushing twice a day, flossing, and making smart nutrition choices.
Dr. Zanthos and our Hygiene Team work together to monitor your child’s dental health and perform preventive treatments to protect that precious smile. We recommend that children been seen at least twice yearly for routine examinations, necessary digital x rays and cleanings. We may also recommend fluoride treatments or dental sealants to help prevent tooth decay.
Your Child's First Visit to the Dentist
A positive first dental experience is a MUST in our office. Our pace is always based on your child's interest and comfort level; sometimes we just go for a ride in the "spaceship" (dental chair), or, have them hold "Mr. Thirsty" (the suction) as we clean their teeth. Our goal is to make dental visits fun so they look forward to coming back to see us again!
Monitoring Developmental Dental Health
At periodic intervals during your child’s growth, we will recommend a "panoramic" x ray. Combined with an oral examination, this digital image of the teeth and jaw structures helps us monitor development and eruption of permanent teeth, and, address any possible orthodontic conditions.
Your Child's Comfort is our #1 Priority.
We have "Laughing Gas" (Nitrous Oxide Sedation) for a mildly relaxing, temporary effect to keep your child comfortable during routine fillings or tooth extractions.
In some cases, if your child is anxious about coming to the dentist or has extensive needs, we may recommend a children's dental specialist, a Pediatric Dentist, to achieve the best possible experience for your child.
If you have questions about your child's dental health, please do not hesitate to contact us. We would be glad to help!
