Dental Implant Restorations offer a natural-looking solution for replacing the function and smile appearance of missing teeth.
Dental Implants are tiny surgical cylinders that act as structural replacements for the roots of lost teeth.
Your Dental Team
After a dental implant is placed by a dental specialist such as an oral surgeon or periodontist, Dr. Zanthos restores the implant with a dental crown or bridge, or, uses it as an anchor for a custom denture.
Dental implants offer solutions for challenging dental problems, and have become a mainstream procedure in dentistry today.
Common uses of dental implants include:
- Replacement of a Single Tooth. A single tooth implant can be restored with a porcelain crown to create a natural-looking result without disturbing adjacent teeth. In many cases, it is the preferred approach over a traditional dental bridge, which involves drilling of surrounding teeth that may be otherwise healthy.
- Bridges. Dental Implants are sometimes used to replace multiple missing teeth; they are commonly used to anchor a fixed bridge when natural tooth support is not available.
- Denture Stabilization. Dental Implants are often recommended as an attachment for a removable partial denture or complete dentures. Having a solid anchor to ‘lock’ a denture in can make a world of difference for a denture-wearer! Learn more about implant-supported dentures.
